Greencastle Ends Zero-Day Attacks with New Innervue Security Software
— Detects and Stops Malware Before It Can Execute —
San Francisco — February 1, 2007 — Greencastle Technology, Inc., a security software company that will end damaging “zero-day” and targeted attacks on servers and PCs, today unveiled its preventative Innervue security software technology in advance of the annual RSA Conference in San Francisco.
Innervue is available today for qualified companies using Windows® XP or Windows® Server 2003. Innervue is an ideal security solution for both mission-critical computers and computers housing critical organizational or personal data.
Closing the Door On Malware and Targeted Attacks
“Greencastle’s new patent-pending approach to software and systems security stops malware and targeted attacks by preventing them from ever executing on servers and PCs.
Innervue is the security solution everyone has been waiting for,”
said Daniel Harrison, noted security expert, formerly Senior Security Engineer of EDS and LoudCloud, who has tested the software for more than 10 months.
“Innervue is a simple, yet profound solution. It’s lightweight and has no performance impact and yet it stops all zero-day attacks dead.”
Innervue operates at the “hairline” between software and hardware. At this deep system level it prevents malware and attacks by monitoring the key interfaces between hardware and the software that are needed for software execution. By tracking all software applications at the lowest level possible in a computer system, Innervue is able to detect malware and targeted attacks as soon as they appear on a system and prevent them from ever launching.
“Serious hackers are now looking for profit, and have virtually abandoned high-visibility mass attacks such as worms that attack broadly. Instead they launch laser-like predatory attacks on vital financial, personal and confidential corporate information,”
said Dr. David Wallace, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Greencastle Technology.
“With Innervue, system operators dramatically increase system security by stopping attacks at the earliest point possible — effectively closing the door on malware and other targeted attacks.”

Easy to Deploy, Easy To Use & Low Overhead
Innervue takes less than a minute to install and requires no further updates or signatures, unlike existing security solutions that are limited by their reactive signature and pattern-based methods. Innervue blocks the attack code from running independent of any vulnerability or code flaw. With its real-time deep system level monitoring and exclusive early detection capabilities, Greencastle’s technology requires no database, rendering Innervue easy to deploy and manage, in stark contrast to current “whitelisting” solutions.
By using Innervue, system operators will no longer need to manage and oversee security software and security patches. Innervue also closes the security “doors” left open unintentionally by delays in distributing anti-spyware and anti-virus signatures.
“Greencastle’s innovative Innervue application makes the prevention of malware attacks easy to track and manage. Preventative security is better than reactive security provided by most antivirus applications because the attacking software doesn’t get the chance to attack the host system,”
Peter Bartoli, Chief Technology Officer of Consolvant, which has tested Innervue for the past seven months.
A Different Approach
Greencastle has taken a wholly new approach to security to develop its patent-pending Innervue.
-
Innervue’s technology is able to detect and stop attack software as soon as it appears on the system, even before it starts executing;
-
Innervue is an easy to deploy application with a small footprint and virtually immeasurable overhead, unlike “whitelist” systems which require large databases that are cumbersome to deploy and maintain; and
-
Innervue does not require updating, scanning or the distribution of new spyware or virus signatures. It also eliminates the need for emergency patching.
